Rockdale Lake

Winter cross-country skiers may unknowingly glide by this small pond located in the Snoqualmie ski area. In the summer, anglers can drive a series of dirt roads to reach it. Fishing can be good for Coastal Cutthroat Trout but spin fishermen may pay for their catch in snagged lures; be wary of submerged logs! Shore fishing area is limited, please tread lightly.

Getting here:

Take I90 eastbound exit #54-Hyak ski area and take a right. Continue onto Hyak Dr E, then turn right onto Snoqualmie Drive. In ~ 1/2m turn right on the dirt road and negotiate your way uphill to the intersection called "Grand Junction" during ski season. Bear left and you will soon be at the pond.

Fishing prospects calendar

Rainbow trout

Fishing success for Rainbow Trout is generally best in the spring when thousands of fish are stocked statewide, but they can be caught year-round in most waters with a little patience and persistence. Success remains high into June and gradually declines as water temperatures increase and fish move offshore to stay cool. Fish that escaped the spring harvest return to the nearshore areas in the fall as waters cool off. Some waters may also be stocked again in the fall further boosting catch rates.
